BREAKING: St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office Pursuit Ends at Waffle House in Slidell

SLIDELL, La. (August 2, 2026) — A vehicle pursuit initiated by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Slidell Police Department, ended Sunday evening at the Waffle House on Eden Isle Boulevard.

According to preliminary information received by APR•St Tammany:

* The pursuit was led by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, with Slidell Police assisting.

* During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly struck a St. Tammany Sheriff’s deputy with the vehicle. The deputy was reported to be OK.

* The pursuit ended after law enforcement boxed the vehicle in at the Waffle House on Eden Isle Boulevard.

* The suspect reportedly refused repeated commands to exit the vehicle.

* After being removed from the vehicle, the suspect allegedly became combative

The circumstances that led to the pursuit and the charges the suspect may face have not yet been officially released.
