Covington High School is asking the community to help the Lions win $250,000 and a chance at a $1 million home field upgrade in T Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition.

The school is among 40 finalists nationwide and the only Louisiana school still in the running. Covington High has already secured $25,000 for reaching this stage of the competition.

Winning its division would bring the school a $250,000 prize and advance the Lions to the final round for a chance at the $1 million home field upgrade.

To rally support, Covington High is promoting its “Paint the Town Magenta” event on Friday, October 16. Students, staff and supporters are encouraged to wear pink or magenta to show their support and help bring attention to the voting effort.

The school’s message reaches beyond its own campus, encouraging families, alumni and neighbors throughout St. Tammany Parish to get behind the Lions.

Supporters can vote once each day through October 25. Those who have already voted can return daily to cast another vote for Covington High School in Covington, Louisiana.

Whether your Friday night loyalties belong to the Lions or another local team, this is an opportunity to help a St. Tammany school bring home a major investment in its facilities.
