Daniel Seuzeneau delivered an upbeat and personal message Monday evening during a meet and greet at The Rusty Pelican, speaking about his family, his campaign and the kind of leadership he hopes to bring to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
APR•St Tammany attended the event, which drew a packed crowd.
Seuzeneau told those gathered that the support he has received across the parish has been overwhelming and said one of the biggest lessons of the campaign has been how much residents want a sheriff who understands their communities and listens to their concerns.
He spoke about traveling throughout St. Tammany Parish, including Folsom, Mandeville, Madisonville and Pearl River, and said he has been encouraged by the reception he has received.
“I have been welcomed with open arms all over this parish,” Seuzeneau said.
Rather than focusing on divisions between different parts of St. Tammany, Seuzeneau emphasized working together as one parish.
“We’re one St. Tammany Parish,” he told the crowd.
Seuzeneau also highlighted what he described as three of his biggest priorities: leadership, accountability and fiscal responsibility.
He said cooperation between agencies, sharing resources where possible and putting egos aside could create better results for residents while also saving taxpayers money.
“If we can get along, if we can consolidate resources, if we can save the taxpayers money, it is a win for everybody,” he said.
The speech also included a personal moment as Seuzeneau thanked his wife, Rachel, and his daughters for supporting him throughout the campaign.
His remarks Monday night carried a consistent theme: listen to residents, work together across the parish and build positive momentum for the future.
Seuzeneau closed by thanking those in attendance and inviting people he had not yet met to come speak with him personally.
APR•St Tammany is posting Seuzeneau’s full remarks from the event with this article. The video quality is not perfect because The Rusty Pelican was packed, but his full speech can be heard clearly.
APR•St Tammany will continue following the 2026 St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s race.
