7/19/2026 GoodMorning,

The National Hurricane Center has increased the chance of tropical development in the northern Gulf to 80% over the next 48 hours and seven days.

The area of low pressure is becoming better organized, and a tropical depression could form later today or Monday as it moves slowly north or northwest.

Regardless of development, portions of the northern Gulf Coast—including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida—could see periods of heavy rain over the next several days. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is expected to investigate the system later today.

There is no need to panic, but residents should continue checking official updates since watches or warnings may become necessary for parts of the Gulf Coast.

APR•St Tammany will continue monitoring the latest information from the National Hurricane Center.
