MANDEVILLE, La. (October 28, 2026). A Mandeville man was sentenced to 60 years at hard labor after pleading guilty to sexual battery in a case involving an older woman, according to the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Arthur James White, 50, received the sentence October 28 from Judge Tara Farris Zeller. District Attorney J. Collin Sims’ office said the sentence carries no eligibility for probation, parole or suspension of sentence. White entered his guilty plea October 27.

The case began with an emergency call to a Mandeville residence during the early morning of May 29, 2021. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found the victim, described by prosecutors as 65 years old, hiding in a neighbor’s yard.

Prosecutors said the attack began while the woman was asleep. Deputies apprehended him at the scene, and the woman was taken to St. Tammany Parish Hospital for a forensic examination.

The victim addressed the court during the sentencing hearing, according to the release.

The sheriff’s office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorneys Tiffany Dover and Taylor Nicholson handled the prosecution.
