STPSO: Narcotics Investigation Leads to Drugs, Guns, Body Armor and Two Arrests

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, a narcotics investigation into alleged crack cocaine distribution led detectives to a Slidell-area residence in the 60000 block of Short Lane.

STPSO says detectives, with assistance from the SWAT Team and Louisiana Probation and Parole, executed a search warrant at the home of 33-year-old Destin Miller. During the warrant, 47-year-old Anthony Thompson reportedly fled into a nearby wooded area and was later located hiding behind a residence on Boykin Lane before being taken into custody.

According to STPSO, detectives seized approximately:

• 7 grams of crack cocaine

• 100 Tapentadol pills

• Approximately 2 pounds of marijuana

• Four unlawfully possessed firearms

• Firearm parts

• A ballistic vest

STPSO also stated one of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen from the Slidell area in October 2025.

Destin Miller was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

• 3 counts of L.R.S. 40:967A — Distribution of a Schedule II CDS, cocaine

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:967A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS, cocaine

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:966A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I CDS, marijuana

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:967A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS, Tapentadol

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:95.3 — Unlawful use or possession of body armor

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:95.1 — Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:95E — Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:69.1 — Illegal possession of a stolen firearm

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:1023 — Possession of drug paraphernalia

Anthony Thompson was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:967A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS, cocaine

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:966A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I CDS, marijuana

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:967A — Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS, Tapentadol

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:95.3 — Unlawful use or possession of body armor

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:95E — Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:69.1 — Illegal possession of a stolen firearm

• 1 count of L.R.S. 40:1023 — Possession of drug paraphernalia

• 1 count of L.R.S. 14:108 — Resisting an officer
