COVINGTON AREA, La. — Three people were arrested after St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives executed a search warrant this week at a Covington-area motel.
STPSO said detectives seized approximately 32.02 grams of fentanyl and 6.31 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies also reported finding alprazolam, amphetamine, Suboxone and hydrocodone, along with drug paraphernalia and $576 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
The sheriff’s office identified those arrested as Paul Ard, 55, of Covington; Jennifer Matherne, 40, of Covington; and Acacia Magee, 34, of Mandeville.
Ard was booked on multiple charges involving the alleged distribution or possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.
Matherne was booked on alleged possession-with-intent charges involving fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with possession of hydrocodone.
Magee was booked on alleged possession-with-intent charges involving fentanyl and alprazolam, along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
All charges are allegations. Each defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
