(August 5, 2026) — Attorney Cameron Mary has officially qualified as a candidate for Judge of the 22nd Judicial District Court, Division E, according to an announcement released by his campaign.
The 22nd Judicial District Court serves St. Tammany and Washington parishes and handles criminal prosecutions, civil disputes, jury trials, evidentiary hearings and other district court matters.
Mary’s campaign says he has more than 34 years of legal and courtroom experience and has participated in more than 150 jury trials.
According to the campaign announcement, Mary began his legal career as a minute clerk while attending law school at night. After earning his law degree and passing the Louisiana Bar Examination, he worked as a felony assistant district attorney.
During his time as a prosecutor, Mary handled cases involving homicide, robbery, sexual assault, narcotics and financial crimes, according to the announcement.
Mary later entered private practice and has served as a partner at Brown & Mary, LLC, in Mandeville since 2006. His campaign says his private practice has included civil litigation and criminal defense matters.
“Qualifying for judge is an important milestone, and I am humbled by the tremendous support our campaign has received throughout St. Tammany and Washington parishes,” Mary said in the campaign release.
Mary said his experience as a prosecutor, civil attorney and defense attorney has provided him with an understanding of multiple parts of the judicial process.
“A judge must protect the public, respect the Constitution and apply the law consistently,” Mary said. “I will be fair, but I will also be firm.”
Mary is seeking the Division E seat in the election scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
