Drivers using the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway on Wednesday, October 28, should expect temporary lane restrictions and rolling convoys during inspections at the drawbridge at the 16 mile marker, Causeway Police announced Tuesday.
The inspection window is 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Work will begin on the northbound bridge before moving to the southbound bridge, according to the Causeway’s official traffic notice.
St. Tammany residents planning a crossing during those hours should account for minor delays. The agency asks motorists to slow down and use extra caution through the inspection areas.
The notice does not identify a particular lane or estimate how many minutes a trip could take beyond normal travel time. Drivers can check the Causeway’s official alerts page for schedule changes before leaving: https://thecauseway.us/alerts/
The schedule was announced October 27 for work the following day.
