ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — Dangerous heat is expected to build across St. Tammany Parish this weekend and continue into next week.

The National Weather Service expects temperatures in the mid-90s this weekend, with some locations reaching the upper 90s by Sunday or Monday.

Heat-index values could reach 110 to 115 degrees Monday through Wednesday. Heat advisories are becoming increasingly likely, and conditions could approach Extreme Heat Warning criteria Monday.

Rain chances will remain near 10%, providing little relief. Residents should stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity and never leave children or pets inside a parked vehicle.
